First graders are lucky to have art twice a week. Here are some extra projects they have been working on. :) All first graders experimented with texture boards. Students from class 1-107 painted animal that they learned all about in their classroom.
Monet's Waterlilies
First grade students used small and medium brushes to create different types of lines. They made thin, thick, short, long and flowing lines. They experimented with model magic and created pinch pots that they turned into boats!

We can use a wet-on-wet technique while watercolor painting. We will be inspired by the illustrations in the book "Ish" by Peter H. Reynolds.

We learned how to weave with paper strips and plastic bags.

We also review color mixing with primary colors to make secondary colors.
